Recently there was a Bagon Community Day Classic<\/a> and I participated in it. The main bonus was a 3\u00d7 catch XP bonus. I was close to leveling up so now would be a great time to do it.<\/p>\n

Community Day Time<\/h2>\n

Here are my stats around the beginning of the community day. I forgot to take a screenshot before it started so this is some number of catches in.<\/p>\n

Each catch gave me just over 7,000 XP with a lucky egg. I also finally have my first mega level 3 Pokemon – Latios. I made Latios my buddy and mega evolved it every day to make sure I had it max mega level for the community day.<\/p>\n

The candy bonus was amazing. I get two extra candies and also a greater chance of getting XL candies. This XL candy bonus drop chance increase was definitely noticeable because by the end, I had over 500 XL candies, whereas in previous community days, like Chansey, I only received around 250.<\/p>\n

Also, for whatever reason, the Mega Latios gave me 2 extra candies per Kartana raid catch so that was a nice plus. It seems that I don’t need to evolve the correct type<\/em> of mega for raid catches, but I do for regular catches. This means, until I get another max mega level pokemon, I need to evolve my Latios for every raid.<\/p>\n

Here’s my stats after the community day ended:<\/p>\n

Overall, I gained just over 2 million XP during the time. I got pretty tired near the end so I didn’t play for the last 30-45 minutes.<\/p>\n

You may have noticed that I leveled up in the image above. Here’s when I leveled up to level 41.<\/p>\n

What’s pretty cool is that it shows the “Previous Level’s Activity” so you can see your stats. I don’t recall seeing this for any of the previous levels, so this could be just a new feature or this is only something that shows after level 40. I didn’t see this Previous Level’s Activity when I hit level 40.<\/p>\n

I also saved the Bagon that I caught to hit Level 41.<\/p>\n

Here are the Level 42 Requirements. The Eevee one is going to be quite time consuming because I don’t like switching my buddies around.<\/p>\n

\"sirknightj-level-41-requirements\"<\/a>Entering The Showcase<\/h2>\n

By the end of the community day, I had caught so many Bagons and amassed over 3,000 candies. I saw a Salamance showcase on the way home and decided to spend 125 candies to evolve my biggest Bagon and enter it. Surprisingly, I was in first place with about 1,041 points and second place had around 600. It seemed that no one else in the area wanted to throw away 125 candies just to win the showcase.<\/p>\n

Showcase Rewards<\/h3>\n

For the showcase rewards, I got:<\/p>\n

  • 1 Super incubator<\/li>\n
  • 1 Star piece<\/li>\n
  • 1 Lucky egg<\/li>\n
  • 3 Ultra balls<\/li>\n
  • Stardust<\/li>\n
  • XP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The super incubator was an amazing drop. This is the first time I received a super incubator from the showcase rewards. It was definitely worth the 125 Bagon candies spent. I traded that Salamance away afterwards since it was only 1-star.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
