The End Isn’t as Profitable As It Used To Be – Hypixel Skyblock

Hypixel Skyblock. A game where everything revolves around coins. Well, not everything, but a very large part of the game revolves around earning coins. You use these coins in order to purchase better items, so that you can slowly work your way up to being the best player.

The End used to be a large part of where I used to hang out. Mainly, because it was one of the best ways I knew of to earn money. On a good day, you could earn 3-4 summoning eyes per hour, which equates to 1.5-2m coins. Then, with those summoning eyes, we could summon Dragons, in hopes of making profit.

In The End, there are a few things you can do:

  • Farm Zealots for Summoning Eyes, to use on Dragons
  • Farm Enderman for Legendary Enderman Pets
  • Farm Golems for Tier Boost Cores and Golem Pets

With the introduction of the higher dungeon floors, especially with the release of Floor 5, we received a new armor set: Shadow Assassin armor. It strictly outclasses Superior Dragon Armor, which used to be the best armor set in the game, except for the tiny magic find and pet luck boost.

So, the Superior Dragon Armor market plummeted. Back in September, they were around 250,000-300,000 coins per frag. Now, they’re around 150,000 coins per frag, about half the cost. A Superior Dragon Helmet used to cost 10 million coins. Now, it costs about 5 million coins.

Let’s see how much money you can realistically make in The End per hour, to see where you should be spending your time.

Summoning Eye Method?

If you farm Zealots for Summoning eyes, you can realistically get around 4 per hour, on average, at most. If each one costs 550,000 coins, then you made yourself 2.2m coins in that hour, not including all the coins the mobs drop, or the pearls you earn.

Farming Enderman?

If you farm Enderman for Legendary Enderman Pet, then you’re profits per hour are looking even slimmer. The drop chance for a Legendary Pet are 1 in 200,000. Let’s say that you are able to kill 1 enderman every other second. Assuming no pet luck or magic find bonuses, at a rate of 1,800 Enderman slain per hour, it will take you a very, very long time to get a tier boost. A legendary Enderman will earn you around 20,000,000 coins, and it will easily take you over 20 hours of work to get one, on average. So, you’ll be earning less than 1 million coins per hour, on average.

Golem Hopping?

Golem hopping can earn you three possible drops:

  • Epic Golem Pet – 500,000 coins (to George the Pet Collector)
  • Legendary Golem Pet – 5,000,000 coins (to George the Pet Collector)
  • Tier Boost Core – 40-45m coins (auction house)

Tier Boost Cores are the golem hopper’s dream. However, it’s extremely unrealistic in terms of making your money back.

With the golem hopping method, you basically need to be one of the top damagers. This means you need:

  • Elegant Tux (~50,000,000 coins if you buy it from the auction house)
  • A few bonemerangs (3 @25,000,000 coins each)
  • Or, a 100,000,000 coin Midas Staff
  • Some high-damaging pet, like a high-level skeleton, golem, wither skeleton, or sheep pet for the Midas Staff.

The drop chance of the tier boost core is currently unknown, but it’s extremely rare. It will take you hundreds of hours to make back the money you spent on the gear.

It takes roughly 10 minutes for the golem to rise. So, on average, you should have a wait time of 5 minutes per golem fight. This means you’re able to do 10 per hour, if we include the time it takes to find a lobby, and to do the golem fight. Assuming that the tier boost core drop chance is 0.5%, it will take you over 10 hours to get a tier boost. The tier boost drop chances are currently unknown, but it feels to be way less than 0.5%, so we’re estimating high here.

Let’s say you can get a tier boost every 12 hours, because your luck is too good. You’re making somewhere between 3-4 million coins per hour, which is better than just farming Zealots. However, the average player cannot get a tier boost every 12 hours. It takes way more time than that, because the drop rate is so low. Furthermore, you’re competing with a lot of other players for that 1st place damage spot. If someone else comes by and outdamages you, then you just wasted time. You also do get crystal frags from golem hopping, but that equates to under 500,000 coins.

Furthermore, golem hopping requires you to pay attention to your screen, requiring active effort.

Compared to other money making methods

Compare this to farming Nether Wart, which can earn you 5-6 million coins per hour, depending on your farming level, and your Elephant pet’s level, consistently, without much RNG. Hypixel Skyblock relies heavily on RNG drops (which is pretty much everything in The End). So, if you want consistent income, you’re better off farming Nether Wart.

Compare this to auction flipping. The art of auction flipping is by browsing the auction house, looking for things that are below market price, buying them, and setting them up as bin. Some examples of items that are commonly flipped are Superior Dragon armor pieces, and Livid Daggers. You can earn a lot of money, for doing almost no work. It just takes patience, and luck that no one else sees the same item you do.

Grinding out floor 7 in Dungeons is slightly better than farming Nether Wart. Depending on your luck, and the speed at which you complete your s+ runs, you can earn somewhere between 6-10m per hour on average. An alternative to running s+ runs is by doing “frag runs”, where you just rush to the blood room and get the “frags” that the water mobs drop. The Diamante’s Handle, L.A.S.R.’s eye and Livid Fragment are what you should be looking for. You used to be able to earn 12-15m coins per hour on average doing this, back when they were still extremely valuable. Today, they’re still valuable, but much less. This will earn you money so much more quickly than farming summoning eyes. One diamante’s handle is worth 3 eyes. It requires so much less work to do this, and so, sitting in the end now is pretty much a waste of time.
